American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Joint Commission accredited community hospital and regional referral center in Lake Havasu City, AZ, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in a 40-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at a 171-bed, Joint Commission accredited community hospital and Level III Trauma Center
• Patient population consists of adult and geriatric patients, including total joint, surgical, ACS, CHF, CKD, alcohol withdrawal, SIRS, and GIB cases
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule period
• Floating to other units (IMC, ED) is expected
• On-call shifts may occasionally be substituted for scheduled shifts (up to twice per contract); no routine on-call scheduling
• EMR is Medhost
• Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators
• No block scheduling requests accepted

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required, including ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Recent acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio required
• ADN or higher required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract located in Lake Havasu City, AZ — a scenic outdoor recreation destination near Las Vegas (2.5 hrs), Phoenix (3.25 hrs), the Grand Canyon (3.5 hrs), and Los Angeles/San Diego (5 hrs)
• Charge and preceptor experience is a plus
• Black scrubs (top and bottom) required; open-toed shoes are not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
