American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Surgical Float Pool position requiring Epic proficiency and a valid GA or compact RN license, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Float Pool unit
• Adult to geriatric patient population with all potential MS and MS/Tele diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required (averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
• Floating required to all MS and MS/Tele units within the hospital, with possible float to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic proficiency required
• No scheduling requests or shift changes permitted — the posted night shift is firm

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
