American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding Unit position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS and PALS certifications, and advanced skills in telemetry, cardiac drips, and critical care management.

Details

• ER Holding Unit in a large academic medical center setting
• Patient population spans all age groups: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Epic EMR used for documentation

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with PCU/stepdown-level care
• Skills required: IV insulin and heparin protocols, renal failure management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BiPAP)
• Experience with Epic EMR
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide acute care nursing to a diverse patient population in an ER holding capacity, including management of complex cardiac, respiratory, and renal conditions
• Rapid Response Team utilization is part of the clinical scope for this role
• No mandatory break between assignments required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs, who still require a 30-day break)
