American Traveler is hiring an experienced Surgical Services CVOR Tech for a cardiovascular OR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Level 1 Trauma Center background, with an on-call requirement and a wide range of complex cardiac and vascular cases.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
• Cardiovascular and vascular surgical patient population including complex open-heart and thoracic cases
• Case types include CABG, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, mitral and aortic valve replacement, aortic dissection repair, VAD, heart and lung transplant, carotid endarterectomy, AAA repair, robotic and laparoscopic cardiac surgery, atherectomy, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, pericardial window, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Responsibilities include receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call requirement of 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Cerner charting experience required

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR/cardiovascular OR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Vascular and thoracic surgery case experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are accepted for this Surgical Services position
• Any former permanent or PRN employee of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within this health system must take a consecutive break before restarting: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
