American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology/Med-Surg RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a dedicated Oncology/Med-Surg unit
• Unit census averages 24 patients across 24 beds
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Cerner
• Schedule change requests may be discussed with the manager

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; must be in hand or actively in the application process
• Current BLS certification required; AHA or Red Cross accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required, including: IV push, continuous infusion, oral administration, port access, body fluid handling post-chemo, cytotoxic spill management, and monitoring
• IV therapy/infusion skills required, including: port access and care, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, blood/blood product administration, antifungals, antivirals, coagulation factors, and starting IVs
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
• Chemo certification preferred but not required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is generally accommodated; more than 5 days requires facility approval
• Scrub color: any solid color
• Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation
