American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for an inpatient adolescent behavioral health unit in Maine, requiring an active ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

Details

• Inpatient adolescent behavioral health unit setting
• Patient population consists of children and adolescents ages 6–18, primarily diagnosed with major depression and ADD/ADHD
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts per week
• Floating to the Chemical Dependency/Detox unit is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 1–3 years of experience working with adults preferred
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage stress in high-acuity situations
• Clean background and license history required
• Maine residents must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility

Additional Information

• Responsible for medication administration, patient and family education, and daily documentation of patient care
• Monitors and manages patient behaviors throughout the unit
• Participates in and leads patient education groups
• Works alongside an interdisciplinary team to deliver day-to-day inpatient behavioral health care
• Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required
