Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) position requiring prior open-heart/post-op cardiac surgery ICU experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac support devices.

Details

• 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) in a large academic hospital setting (500+ beds)
• Cares for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, and other complex cardiac procedures
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Day shift, 12 hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekend requirement: 5 out of every 6 weekends
• 36 or 48 hours per week assignments available
• Epic EMR used (experience preferred)
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Critical Care Certification preferred
• Minimum experience required: trained and worked in a dedicated open-heart unit receiving patients directly from the OR
• Current hands-on experience with post-op cardiac surgery patient recovery in an ICU setting required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation (Vent), CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Experience at a comparable facility size required (500+ bed facility)
• Trauma course preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required for consideration
