American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiology position specializing in pre- and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional cath procedures, requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric ICU or procedural nursing experience and an active SC RN license

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), with staff expected to remain until the last patient is discharged or admitted
• Pediatric Cardiology unit within a children's hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
• Cases include pre- and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional cath procedures, as well as sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
• Minimum of 2–3 patient visits per day
• Scheduling is self-scheduling with the team; manager finalizes to ensure coverage, with a minimum of 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts per month
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• No floating within the unit or to sister facilities
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active SC RN license (or compact license) must be in hand prior to start — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; pediatric ICU, stepdown (preferably cardiac), or procedural care nursing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's License and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pre- and post-anesthesia care for pediatric through adult congenital cardiac patients undergoing cardiovascular, EP, and interventional cath procedures, sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
• Reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Manager
• Completion of online modules required prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
• All employees and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams — candidates should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility need
