Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Post-Surgical Med/Surg night shift position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work setting is a 34-bed Post-Surgical unit (3 West) within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes post-op patients from general surgery and bariatric surgery, as well as overflow medical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Shift hours are 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, rotating days, 3 shifts per week
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Float to similar Med/Surg units based on rotation and census needs
• EMR is Epic; experience required
• Pyxis medication dispensing system in use

Requirements

• Active Indiana or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or Post-Surgical setting
• Experience with surgical drains required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and time management skills

Additional Information

• Post-surgical nursing care responsibilities include managing post-op patients following general and bariatric procedures
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Education modules will be assigned upon hire and must be completed prior to first day on the floor
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may be subject to a reduced pay package
• Post-surgical and Med/Surg background is preferred
