American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position at an outpatient oncology clinic, requiring a minimum of 2 years of true chemo infusion experience and a current chemo/biotherapy certification.

Details

• Outpatient infusion clinic setting with 56 chairs and an average of 180–200 patients per day
• Patient population includes outpatient chemotherapy, blood products, enzyme replacement, Remicade infusions, multiple sclerosis infusions, and kidney transplant infusions
• Staffing model includes approximately 18–22 nurses per day, supported by a charge nurse, resource nurse, and clinical techs who place IVs and draw blood
• Primary EMR is Epic with Beacon; Epic experience is preferred
• Schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekend work is required
• One major holiday is required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating to other campus infusion centers may be required; travelers are first to float, though it is not typically necessary unless absolutely necessary and the traveler agrees

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and chemo/biotherapy certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient infusion experience required, with true chemo infusion experience
• Ambulatory oncology experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, blood transfusions, therapeutic phlebotomy, injections, symptom management, focused assessments, patient education, care coordination, lab setup, and provider communication
• Orientation is 1–2 weeks in length
• Scrub color is navy
• The facility places a strong emphasis on building positive, lasting relationships with patients, and travelers are expected to contribute to that culture
• Manager is present Monday through Friday
