Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN/LVN for a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit, working night shifts with 1+ year of experience and Epic familiarity preferred.

Details

• Works in a 14-bed Med/Surg Tele overflow unit housed within a GI Endoscopy space, designed to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Patient census may fluctuate based on ED boarder volume and demand
• Scheduled for night shifts, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating to Med/Surg patients may be required based on unit turn
• On-call shifts may be required depending on staffing needs
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred
• Skills required include blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion (male and female), NG/G-tube management, IM and SQ injections, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face mask), vital sign monitoring, and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Med/Surg or Tele experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• LPNs may not assume charge assignments or act as resource nurse in the GI/Overflow or Med/Surg settings
• SBAR communication is used for ED patients; verbal report is expected for all other transfers and admissions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Block scheduling requests will be accommodated when possible but are not guaranteed
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
• Minimal RTO is preferred
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
