American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Magnet teaching hospital, requiring at least 3 years of ED experience and current trauma certifications.

Details

• Fast-paced Emergency Department within a 500-bed Level I Magnet teaching hospital
• High-volume unit averaging 175 patient visits per day
• Required skills include telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, mechanical ventilator management, IV starts, and conscious sedation
• ICP monitoring experience is preferred
• Day/Mid shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30 or 11:00–23:30)
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating outside the unit
• Charting via Epic (required — hard stop)
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license equivalent currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Current TNCC and/or ATCN certification required (ATCN preferred)
• Current ENPC and/or PALS certification required (ENPC preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required, including at least 2 years as a staff RN in an ED
• Staff experience must be from a Level III trauma center or higher (Level I or II preferred)
• At least 1 completed travel assignment in an ED is required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry proficiency required; a telemetry interpretation test will be administered
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience is preferred
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also available on the unit
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum
• Former UW Health system staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option approximately 1 mile away is also available with weekday shuttle service (5 AM–10 PM, Monday–Friday only)
