American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position at a Level II Trauma Acute Care Hospital in Florida, requiring Prismaflex CRRT/TPE and multi-machine dialysis experience with on-call availability.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Acute Care Hospital dialysis unit with a 13-week contract
• Average daily census of 30 patients with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Hemodialysis (HD) and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) performed both in-unit and at the bedside; peritoneal dialysis (PD) and CRRT performed at the bedside
• Equipment used includes Prismaflex (CRRT/TPE), Amia peritoneal cycler (CCPD), Baxter, Fresenius J/K, and Gambro machines
• Charting via Sunrise (no prior experience required)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend, or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period based on unit needs
• On-call is required and scheduled during both weekdays and weekends; every other Saturday on-call is required, with Sunday call varying
• Floating required — home base is the dialysis unit, but may float to any sister facilities within the health system (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis RN experience required
• Experience with a 1:2 patient ratio required
• Prismaflex CRRT/TPE experience required
• Amia peritoneal cycler (CCPD) experience required
• Baxter, Fresenius J/K, and Gambro machine experience required
• Experience initiating and setting up dialysis treatments required
• Experience with machine alarm troubleshooting required
• Experience with post-dialysis treatment procedures required
• Experience with administration of blood and blood products during dialysis treatment required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with symptom management during dialysis required
• 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the past year required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

• Level II Adult Trauma Acute Care Hospital with 514 staffed beds
• Solid-colored scrubs required — no mixed colors, logos, or prints; all units/specialties (including dialysis) may wear any solid color
• Flu vaccine required seasonally (October 31 – March 31); medical and religious exemptions accepted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restrictions apply
• All requested time off must be finalized and submitted prior to offer; no RTO requests will be accepted after an offer is made
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as staff, employees, or contracted travelers must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
