Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level III Trauma hospital, requiring strong Neuro and Cardiac skills on a 12-hour night shift schedule.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a Level III Trauma designation
• 24-bed Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned to pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights (acuity-dependent)
• Charting via Sunrise Allscripts EMR
• 12-hour night shifts
• Float requirement to all Med/Surg units and ICU (MS overflow patients only)

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS (AHA) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
• Strong Neuro and Cardiac nursing skills required
• Experience with Allscripts/Sunrise EMR preferred

Additional Information

• Support staff on unit includes telemetry techs, a charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7; no dedicated IV team on unit
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs in any color except all-black are required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• 13-week contract with up to 3 shift cancellations allowed
