American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and proficiency in Epic EMR.

Details

• Work in a Medical Oncology outpatient setting with 18 semi-private bays
• Oncology patient population receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal and non-hormonal injections
• Day shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Epic EMR is used and proficiency is required

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license currently in hand
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience required
• Oncology nursing experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Experience administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy required
• Experience accessing port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, accessing and maintaining central venous access devices, performing venipuncture, PICC and Hickman dressings, and drawing labs via ports, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
• Responsible for verifying informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy
• Must demonstrate knowledge of proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs, and appropriate use of PPE
• Provides patient, family, and caregiver education on medications, treatments, expected responses, side effects, disease process, nutrition, and activity
• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to their assignment start date; this in-person appointment is held at the facility's Employee Health department and should be planned for the Friday before a Monday start
