American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Mother Baby / Post Partum position on a Women's Services unit in Smyrna, TN, requiring at least 2 years of experience and NRP Advanced 9th Edition certification.

Details

• Women's Services unit within a main hospital building
• Unit includes 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per month
• Floating may be required to Mother/Baby or outside the department for tasking
• Procedures performed on unit include OR circulating, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP Advanced 9th Edition (AAP card required)
• Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification, or NCCEFM, required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Mother Baby / L&D RN experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start

Additional Information

• Unit operates on a laborist team model with 24/7 in-house midwives, a dedicated CRNA, and an OB on call
• An 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP available 24/7 supports the unit, with NNP attendance at all high-risk deliveries
• Postpartum unit provides couplet care, keeping newborns at the bedside and supporting breastfeeding with donor milk availability
• Unit has been recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction (2021) and served as a TIPQC Pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth
• Scrubs required: hot pink top (preferred) with black bottoms permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months are permitted
