American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical Med/Surg unit with required post-surgical care experience and Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma background.

Details

• 32-bed Surgical Unit in a hospital setting, shared with a PCU
• Post-surgical patient population including vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery cases
• Common diagnoses include ARDS, esophagectomies, Whipple procedures, and sepsis
• RN-to-patient ratio is 4:1 on days and 5:1 on nights
• LNA-to-patient ratio is 1:7-11
• Night shift or day/night rotating schedule available at 36 hours per week
• Floating to other units is expected

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Post-surgical nursing experience required, including vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery patients
• Experience with chest tubes, drains, and lines for post-surgical patients required
• Experience managing IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Experience with trachs and laryngectomies required
• Telemetry experience required
• Complex wound care experience required
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draw experience required
• Two manager references required for consideration
