Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced IR RN for a 13-week travel contract in an acute care setting, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience and the ability to pass a Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam.

Details

• Interventional Radiology (IR) unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Common cases include biopsies, drainage procedures, extremity work, angiography, angioplasty, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, cryoablation, catheter/line placements, and nephrostomy
• Assists Interventional Radiologists across modalities including CT and ultrasound
• EMR systems used: Cerner, Radnet, and Merge Unity
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Call is required: rotating call schedule typically follows a pattern of one week on, one week off, one week on, two weeks off — covering evenings and nights
• 1 major and 1 minor holiday coverage required
• 30-minute call response time required
• Floating may be required to a nearby sister campus approximately 6.5 miles away
• Approximately 2.5 staff scheduled per weekday across 24 hours
• 1 IR suite/lab on unit; daily case volume varies

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (no pending certifications accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of IR nursing experience required
• Must be able to pass a Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam
• Familiarity with IR procedures, equipment, and procedural sedation required
• A driver's license must be provided for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Assists Interventional Radiologists with minimally invasive procedures and patient positioning; also accompanies physicians to other imaging modalities such as CT and ultrasound
• Unit orientation is led by the Lead RN and is at least one week in duration
• Hospital-provided navy surgical scrubs are the required dress code
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
