American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week evening shift contract at a Level III Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital in Milwaukee, WI, with required skills in robotic surgery, vascular, and both scrubbing and circulating.

• Work in a 21-bed Main OR at a 636-bed Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital in Milwaukee, WI
• Surgical specialties include General (vascular, laparoscopic, oncology, GU, GYN), Neuro/ENT (spine, cranial, ENT), and Orthopedics (fractures, anterior hips, total joints, ortho spine, hand/podiatry)
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Robotic surgery (da Vinci Xi) is performed; agency staff are not trained on robots unless they have a strong background
• Navigation systems used include Medtronic (cranial and spine), Medtronic Stealth (ENT), Stryker, and Synaptive (cranial)
• Equipment includes the Hanna Table, Alaris, and Pyxis
• Charting system is Epic
• 10-hour evening shifts, 0900–1930, 40 hours per week
• On-call required: 2230–0700 slots (5–10 per 8-week schedule) and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 8-week schedule; 30-minute response time required
• Cross-training to General Main OR specialty and Urology Center required; no floating to other hospital sites
• 1–2 holidays required to be worked or covered via call during the contract

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
• Robotic surgery (da Vinci Xi) and vascular experience required
• ENT, neuro, and orthopedic OR experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience
• Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible

Additional Information

• RN will function in both scrub and circulator roles across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Unit support includes Charge Nurses, Leads, and Supervisors (AM, PM, and weekend) as well as a Manager
• Orientation is approximately 1–1.5 weeks, subject to change based on unit needs
• Hospital-provided surgical scrubs; personal scrub caps must be covered by a surgical bouffant
• Free parking available with a shuttle to and from the parking structure
• No call rooms available on unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers; no radius restrictions apply
• First-time travelers are not recommended for this position and would require additional approval from the hiring supervisor
