American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Alaska, requiring 3 years of Med/Surg experience and an active AK RN license.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• 31-bed unit
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Epic EMR used in this position
• Pyxis medication dispensing system and Meditech and OBIX equipment used on the unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS, and PEARS
• Strong critical thinking skills
• COVID vaccination or signed declination form required

Additional Information

• Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles in accordance with hospital policies and standards of practice
• Orientation includes Meditech and OBIX training over 3 days, plus unit-specific orientation
• Medication competency testing must be completed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Online modules must be completed prior to the start date
• Unvaccinated staff are required to wear masks while on site
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Travelers with previous employment at this facility must disclose it for a Do Not Use (DNU) check
