American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience, including IR and peripheral vascular exposure, with on-call responsibilities on weeknights and weekends.

Details

• Acute care Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 2 Cath Lab/IR suites, 1 Hybrid Room, and 7 Holding Rooms
• Patient population includes cardiac cases (PCI, diagnostic LHC & RHC, pacemaker implants), vascular and IR cases, mediports, dialysis caths, and AAA stenting in the hybrid lab
• Average of 16 cases per day
• Equipment used includes Impellas, IABP, Shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, Swans, and Roto
• EMR: Cerner; Cath Lab system is GE MacLab (transitioning to Philips Xper)
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 0530–1800
• On-call required weeknights 1–2 days per week, and 1 on-call weekend every 4th weekend after end of shift
• May be included in the holiday on-call rotation
• Call response time is 30 minutes; call team consists of 2 RNs and 2 Cardiovascular Techs
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Prior exposure to IR and peripheral vascular cases required
• Hands-on experience with Impellas, IABP, Shockwave, IVUS, FFR, IFR, Swans, and Roto required
• Proficiency with IV conscious sedation and airway management required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately
• BSN not required
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Any licensing hits or issues must be disclosed upfront

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre-admission and post-procedure care in the Holding area, procedural nursing in the lab, PICC line insertion, and IV conscious sedation and airway management
• Charge nurse is present each shift and assists with daily flow and assignments; 6 Cardiovascular Techs on staff
• Orientation consists of 2–3 preceptored shifts
• Royal blue scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year before a 2-year break is required
• All candidates will interview directly with the unit manager
• 2 references required: 1 supervisor reference (from a permanent facility if applicable in the last 12 months) and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference such as a Charge RN
