Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring at least 2 years of experience, with expertise in post-open heart surgery, vascular, LVAD, and Impella patient care.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital CVICU with 10 beds and an average daily census of 8
• Patient population includes adults through geriatrics, with a focus on post-open heart surgery (OHS), vascular, LVAD, and Impella patients
• Patient ratio is 1:1–2
• EMR system is Epic; Pyxis is used for medication dispensing; SBAR communication protocol is followed
• Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating throughout the facility within scope of practice as needed
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO may not be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)

Requirements

• Active Georgia (GA) or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or relevant RN experience required
• Experience with post-OHS, vascular, LVAD, and Impella patients required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or shift changes are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
