American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neurosciences unit position requiring a minimum of one year of RN experience and AHA-issued certifications, working 12-hour night shifts.

Details

• Works in a hospital Neurosciences unit caring for patients with a variety of neurological conditions ranging from simple to complex
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend requirement of 48 hours per 4-week scheduling period
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) — AHA-issued certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Collaborates with patients and families on care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 total weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — the facility will not negotiate start dates and does not allow push starts for non-compliant travelers
