American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience for a night shift travel contract in Chesapeake, VA, requiring an active VA or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• ICU setting within an acute care hospital environment
• Patient populations include neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis/MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule available
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required within the contract period
• Floating required to Stepdown Unit, and may float to ED or Med/Surg to care for ICU-level patients being held
• Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration — no exceptions
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Strong neuro experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, EVD management, and stroke
• Additional required skills: mechanical ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia/emergency management
• 3 years of critical care (CC) experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Clean license and background required — any prior license or background hits will disqualify the candidate
• Driver's license required for address verification
• Two professional references required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — a driver's license must be provided for address verification prior to any offer acceptance
• Shift preference (3x12 vs. 4x12) should be indicated at the time of application
