American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet teaching hospital, requiring conscious sedation experience, telemetry proficiency, and Epic charting.

Details

• Work in the Endoscopy unit of a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• 4x10-hour day shifts (8:30–19:00), with possible shift adjustment to 7:30–18:00 with advance notice
• Patient ratios: 1:1 in the intake and sedation areas; 1:2 in the post-procedure area
• CRNAs are available on-site for patients requiring MAC sedation
• Float required within the endoscopy procedural and pre/post areas — candidates must be comfortable and experienced in all three areas
• 1–2 weekend/holiday on-call shifts required per month
• Epic EMR — required
• Unit has 4 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital experience required; ICU background highly preferred
• Conscious/procedural sedation experience is required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Telemetry proficiency required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• A Relias telemetry assessment will be administered
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity teaching and trauma facilities preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions

Additional Information

• Candidates must be experienced and comfortable floating across the intake, sedation, and post-procedure endoscopy areas
• Conscious sedation certification is highly preferred
• Prior UW Health staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum; no more than 6 days of RTO for the contract
• Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates — no radius restriction
• Facility provides scrubs as needed, or candidates may wear their own solid-color scrubs
• On-site parking is available (weekdays ~$15/day; evenings ~$5; weekends ~$4); an offsite parking option (~$10/day) is also available with a 10-minute shuttle service running Monday–Friday, 5am–10pm
