American Traveler is hiring a travel RN - Lactation Consultant / Postpartum for a Magnet-designated academic medical center, requiring IBCLC certification and at least 2 years of experience with weekends required.

Details

• Postpartum / Lactation Consultant unit in a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Weekends required
• Floating within the hospital is required; no floating to sister hospitals
• Charting via Epic (preferred but not required)
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and IBCLC
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum / lactation nursing experience
• At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Proficiency in newborn care including assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, and phototherapy
• Proficiency in magnesium infusions, insulin infusions, PCA/PCEA infusions, and heparin infusions
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• Teaching hospital and trauma center experience preferred

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
• RTO is not permitted during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week allowed
• Former UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Scrubs may be any color; scrubs are provided for OR personnel only
