American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac OR experience and the ability to take call on a rotating schedule.

Details

• Work in a cardiovascular OR setting with 2 dedicated CVOR suites, including a hybrid room for TAVR procedures
• Average daily caseload of 2–6 cases, with approximately 6 cardiac cases per week
• Case types include CABG, TAVR, Windows, VATS (open and thoracoscopic), and general surgery
• Cardiac OR nurses are expected to circulate general surgery procedures when needed
• Day shift schedule: Mon–Fri, 7-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM (8-hr shifts preferred); 10-hr shifts also possible
• Shift start time may be moved to 5:30 AM depending on scheduled cardiac cases that day
• On-call is required on a 6-week rotating schedule, averaging 10–12 call shifts per cycle, including 1–2 weekends and 1–2 weekday call shifts
• 30-minute call turnaround time required; call rooms can be arranged if needed

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification also required
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac OR/CVOR experience required, plus at least 1–2 years of general OR experience
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
• Proof of address required for consideration (e.g., driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, W2, or military Form 2058)
• Full SSN and date of birth (MM/DD) required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required
• Copy of all certifications required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating in the CVOR and general OR, managing perioperative patient care, coordinating surgical team needs, and maintaining the sterile field
• A pass/fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam is administered on the first day of orientation; candidates have two attempts to pass — a study guide will be provided in advance
• Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are not eligible for this position
