American Traveler is seeking a licensed CNA for a Long-Term Care position at a Critical Access Hospital in Alaska, requiring an active Alaska CNA license and at least 1 year of CNA experience.

Details

• Long-term care setting within a Critical Access Hospital
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric residents, both acute and non-acute
• 12-hour shifts
• Cross-training required in additional hospital areas including the Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, and Surgical Department
• Cross-training to Senior Office Specialist/Ward Clerk position required for high census or vacancy coverage
• Telemetry monitoring training provided and performed within the inpatient unit
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Current, full, and unrestricted Alaska (AK) CNA license required
• Current BLS certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of prior CNA experience preferred
• Ability to lift and reposition non-ambulatory patients/residents on a regular basis
• Must complete unit-specific courses as required (e.g., point-of-care/waived testing)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include providing basic bedside care such as bathing, oral hygiene, vital signs monitoring, specimen collection, resident ambulation, meal assistance, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Documents observation findings and reports abnormal changes in patient condition to the supervising Licensed Nurse (LN)
• Required to obtain 12-lead ECGs and train in telemetry monitoring within the inpatient unit
• Must become a Point of Care Trainer within 3 months of hire
• Expected to serve as a preceptor for incoming CNA staff and CNA students
• Must initiate and participate in a Performance/Process Improvement project within the unit
