Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care (LTC) travel assignment at a nursing home in Wisconsin, requiring at least 1 year of experience with an elderly patient population.

Details

• Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital, operating as a post-acute/LTC/SNF facility
• Patient population includes elderly residents with dementia, frailty, and rehabilitation needs
• RN-to-resident ratio is 1:20
• EMR system is ECS (facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
• 12-hour day shifts on a block schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating may be required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience working with elderly patients required
• Clinical skills required include IV therapy, catheterization, ostomy care, and other hands-on nursing procedures

Additional Information

• Daily responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge nurse duties, medication administration, and hands-on clinical skills
• Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and RT (on-site 24/7)
• Physician is available after hours; on-site pharmacy and medication dispensing system are available
• Scrub color requirement: any solid color, clean and professional
• Orientation length varies based on individual skill level
• Candidates who have previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their start date
• 2 references are required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference within the last 3 years of relevant experience
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which may affect the travel pay rate
