American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring the ability to scrub and circulate complex vascular cases with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Details

• Work setting is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 820 staffed beds
• Assignment is in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit focused on complex vascular surgery cases
• Common procedures include endovascular, TEVAR, FEVAR, AAA, EVAR, cold leg, thrombectomy, amputation, carotid, and AV fistula cases
• Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday, 36 hours per week, scheduled per unit needs
• On-call is required approximately 6–8 times per month, including at least one weekend call rotation
• Holiday call coverage may be required
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact (multi-state) RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active prior to start
• Current AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating complex vascular cases
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Radiation badge required (provided by agency)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating complex vascular and endovascular surgical procedures
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the first day of the assignment
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, and local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on departmental needs
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
• A one-time $20 parking registration fee is required to obtain a hang tag for the designated parking garage; the hang tag is valid only for that garage
