American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transfer Center - Clinical position in Rancho Cordova, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU, ED, or transfer center experience and proficiency with multiple clinical applications including Cerner.

• Transfer Center - Clinical unit within an acute care hospital setting in Rancho Cordova, CA
• This is a remote coordination role with zero direct hands-on patient care
• Facilitates patient transfers for all patient types, both within and outside of the health system
• Average caseload of 12 cases per shift, with 10–15 cases being worked simultaneously at any given time
• Utilizes multiple platforms including Cerner, TeleTracking, Tiger Connect, and Google Workspace applications
• 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required
• Must be available to be scheduled any day of the week, including holidays as needed
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU, ED, or transfer center experience required
• Acute care experience required
• Cerner or Epic experience required
• Strong critical care assessment skills and sound clinical judgment required
• Proficiency with multiple computer applications and strong typing skills required
• Must be professional with strong customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked (must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire)
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include facilitating patient transfers by coordinating with accepting physicians and specialists, reviewing clinical information, and requesting appropriate bed placements
• Works with a list of hospitals and services to identify appropriate receiving facilities for each patient
• Supported by on-site supervisors and a leadership team
• Orientation consists of 1 day of general hospital orientation followed by 3–5 days of department-specific training; training may occur on any shift
• A Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) must be passed prior to offer confirmation; candidates receive 2 attempts
• A pass/fail sterile technique assessment (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation
• RTO (time off) requests are rarely accommodated and should be extremely limited
• Free on-site parking and 4 hours of free EV charging available

• A two-step interview process is required: an initial clinical pre-screen followed by a manager interview
