American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified Oncology RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Magnet-designated academic medical center in Washington, requiring at least 2 years of oncology experience and active WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient oncology unit within a 281-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level 4 Trauma designation
• Patient population includes lymphoma, solid tumor, and sarcoma cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call is optional, not mandatory
• Floats to all Med/Surg units within the hospital; no floating to sister hospitals
• Charting is done in Epic (preferred but not required)
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active WA RN license (standard or compact) currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS and Chemotherapy Administration certification required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology RN experience required; candidates with Med/Surg backgrounds and outpatient oncology experience will also be considered
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include chemo administration/monitoring/precautions, port access, IV starts, CVC maintenance, PCA management, and telemetry monitoring (x3)
• COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
• Two professional references required for consideration

• May be required to transport patients to procedures or testing
• Uses unit-based lift equipment and telemetry monitoring
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rates; no radius restriction applies
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week permitted
• Scrubs are any color; scrubs are only provided for OR personnel
