American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center in Oregon, requiring at least one prior completed travel assignment and key certifications including ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS.

• Acute care hospital Emergency Department at a Level III Trauma Center
• Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, COPD, DKA, trauma, and stroke; experience with mental health, ETOH, and overdose patients is essential
• Fast track area available; separate triage area with 2 rooms
• Two dedicated psych hold rooms and a separate overflow psych area within the ED
• ED supported by both physicians and mid-level providers, a dedicated charge nurse, house supervisor, ED techs, and patient sitters
• In-house security available 24/7
• Every room equipped with Spacelabs monitors; monitor tech available 24/7
• X-ray and CT available within the ED; phlebotomy drawn by both nurses and phlebotomists
• RT services available including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• EMR: Epic (required); Pyxis for medication dispensing
• 12-hour variable shift schedule — shift start times rotate across day, mid, and night blocks scheduled in 4-week increments (0645, 0945, 1145, 1345, or 1845); must be willing to work any assigned shift
• Alternate work week schedule required (48/24 rotation)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license required (OR Emergency License accepted — must be obtained promptly with no background check disqualifiers)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Emergency Department experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN not required
• At least one completed travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, medical, and behavioral health presentations
• Triage responsibilities required in the dedicated triage area
• D/E/N shift rotation is scheduled in 4-week blocks; candidates must confirm willingness to work any and all assigned shift start times prior to consideration
• At least 2 days of unit-specific orientation provided before beginning the rotation schedule; orientations are held twice monthly
• Holiday coverage required; at least one of the following holidays will be granted off: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Independence Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; no uniforms required
