American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardio ICU position requiring 2+ years of dedicated Cardiac ICU experience and recent competency with advanced cardiac devices including ECMO, Impella, and IABP.

Details

• 13-week contract in a hospital Cardiac ICU setting
• 24-bed Cardiac ICU unit
• Patient population includes Cardiogenic Shock, STEMI, Cardiac Arrest, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmia, Lysis, Post IR/PCI Procedures, and TEVAR
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; 1:3 on Stepdown
• Advanced therapies in use include VV/VA ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, TTM/Arctic Sun, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• EMR: Epic
• Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other ICUs including Stepdown, Progressive Care, IMC, and Tele units

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2+ years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required
• Must have worked in a dedicated Cardiac ICU setting
• Recent experience and demonstrated competency within the last 6 months on all of the following: VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips required
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include management of complex cardiac patients on advanced mechanical support and hemodynamic monitoring
• Must be prepared to cover 1 major winter holiday — Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's — including the day before, day of, and day after
• Floor orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Scrub requirement: Navy blue pants with solid navy blue or solid white tops; jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white
