American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an IV Therapy Vascular Access Team position in a fast-paced outpatient oncology clinic, requiring at least 1 year of vascular access experience and an active AZ or Compact RN license.

Details

• Fast-paced outpatient clinic setting focused on IV therapy and vascular access
• Works alongside a team of 4 other Port RNs with a caseload of 19+ patients per day
• Performs lab draws and utilizes Huber Needles for port access
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of vascular access experience required; 3 years preferred
• Proficiency with implanted vascular access devices (ports), PICCs, and midline catheters required
• Experience with phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and aseptic/sterile technique required
• Ability to perform insertion procedures, catheter removal, dressing changes, flushing, and patency assessment
• Familiarity with vascular access complications including CLABSI, extravasation, phlebitis, pneumothorax, and sepsis management required
• Proficiency in patient/family education, informed consent, and patient positioning
• Preferred experience with mastectomy patients, older adults, renal patients, and ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access

Additional Information

• Approximately 80 hours of orientation provided
• Navy scrubs are required and are not provided by the facility
• Responsibilities include vascular access troubleshooting, site and vessel selection/evaluation, device stabilization, and rapid response team participation
