American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Psychiatric unit position at a non-profit community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of psych experience and proficiency in de-escalation and psychiatric assessments.

Details

• Position is based on a 36-bed Adult Psychiatric unit within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital
• Patient population includes adults with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, suicidal ideation, dementia with behaviors, and diabetes
• Schedule is 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required approximately 2 weekends per month
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating may be required to Med/Surg units or to serve as a sitter
• Epic EMR experience is preferred

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required
• Additional Med/Surg or acute care experience is preferred
• Proficiency in psychiatric assessments, de-escalation techniques, and experience with physical restraints
• Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required prior to start; one reference may be submitted for initial consideration
