American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of ED experience and current TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Evening shift, 3x12-hour schedules (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds
• Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center
• Average patient ratio of 1:6
• Primarily assigned to one campus, with the possibility of rotating to other campuses
• Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charting performed in Epic
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
• Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience from a comparable hospital setting; 2 years preferred
• ED experience in a large trauma center setting required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO requests of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval; block scheduling is not available
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine exemptions are available for religious or medical reasons only
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
