American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN for a Med/Surg Tele unit at a hospital in Rochester, NY, with 1+ year of experience and Epic proficiency preferred for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Work in a hospital setting on a 14-bed overflow Med/Surg Tele unit designed to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Unit is a flex space within a GI Endoscopy area, so patient census may increase or decrease based on demand
• Patient population includes medical/surgical and telemetry patients, as well as ED boarders
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend (EOW)
• Floating required based on turn, primarily to care for Med/Surg patients
• On-call may be required depending on staffing needs
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred
• LPNs may not assume charge assignment or act as resource in the GI/OF or Med/Surg charge role

Requirements

• Current LPN license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Med/Surg and telemetry experience required
• ED experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Proficiency in a broad range of clinical skills including: blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion (male and female), IM and SQ injections, NG/G-tube management, oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face mask), vital sign monitoring, isolation precautions, and patient admission
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• Minimal time-off requests preferred during the assignment; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront
