American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Nursing Supervisor for a 13-week travel contract in Boston, MA, requiring a MA RN license and a minimum of 5 years of acute care staff nursing experience including charge nurse and leadership responsibilities.

Details

• Hospital-based acute care setting, supervising multiple nursing units and departments
• Day/Night rotation on 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Covers evening, night, and weekend shifts as the on-site hospital supervisor
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Patient population spans infancy through geriatrics across multiple units and departments

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing degree required: diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of staff nurse experience at an acute care facility, including charge nurse responsibilities
• Leadership experience required
• Must demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills necessary to oversee care for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics
• Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) — the test may only be taken twice
• Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'); one reference must include a performance evaluation dated within the last 12 months, the other within the last 3 years
• References cannot be provided by another traveler
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Serves as the on-site hospital representative responsible for coordinating operational and administrative activities during evening, night, and weekend shifts
• Provides clinical direction and serves as a role model for nursing staff
• Evaluates nursing care delivery and ensures appropriate staffing decisions to support high-quality, cost-efficient patient care
• Functions as a member of the Nursing Leadership Team and plans/directs Nursing Division activities in alignment with established policies and divisional goals
• Establishes and maintains interdisciplinary communication and cooperation across departments
• Manages human resource activities within the Nursing Division to promote quality care and a positive work environment
• One reference from a most recent temporary or travel assignment is preferred
