American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Oncology Clinic position requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric oncology/hematology experience and APHON certification.

Details

• Hospital-based outpatient pediatric oncology and hematology clinic setting
• Patient population includes pediatric and young adult oncology and hematology patients requiring chemotherapy and central venous catheter care (Ports, Broviacs, PICC Lines)
• Outpatient experience is highly preferred
• Charting performed in Epic
• Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within the candidate's skillset; patient ratios vary based on census, acuity, and staffing

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, and APHON (Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology and hematology nursing experience
• Proficiency in pediatric chemotherapy administration, chemotherapy monitoring, and post-chemotherapy body fluid handling
• Experience with symptom management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and port access/management
• Competency in pediatric dosage calculations and IV pump operation
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two current professional references required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

• Care is delivered within a multidisciplinary model integrating medical treatment with psychosocial and family-centered support services, with access to clinical trials
• Holiday coverage is required — must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays based on unit needs
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former RWJBarnabas Health staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
