Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry or step-down experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
• Telemetry/Step-Down unit caring for cardiac and step-down patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Charting performed in Epic; experience with Epic is required
• Proficiency with EKG interpretation and management of cardiac drips required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry or step-down nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; travelers should contact the facility's Public Safety department for options and availability
• No RTO during the first week of orientation; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
