American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of neuro setting experience and active MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Neuro ICU unit within a short-term acute care hospital (1,266 beds)
• Patient population includes ischemic strokes (post-thrombectomy, post-tPA), hemorrhagic strokes, subdural/epidural hematomas, neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders, CNS infections, neurotrauma (GSW, MVC, spinal cord injuries), and ICP monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Specialized procedures include vasoactive medication management, central line/arterial line management, ICP monitoring (EVDs/bolts), CRRT, hypothermia/hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions
• Specialized equipment includes EVDs and bolts
• Charting is done in Epic
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MO state RN license required at the time of consideration; compact license also accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years in a neuro setting
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Preferred certifications: TNCC; BSN preferred
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center
• 10 hours of stroke education required and will be completed during orientation (NIHSS certification taken within the year may satisfy up to 3 hours; current or renewed ACLS taken within the year may also contribute)
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation; no more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Scrub color is Navy Blue
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Parking passes are available for purchase through the facility's Public Safety department; night shift workers may park at no charge in employee parking
