American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Central Processing Clinics Project Management/Supervisor role requiring a CRCST certification and at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or educator role within Central Processing or the OR.

Details

• Hospital-based role supporting sterile processing services for inpatient and outpatient clinics and ambulatory care settings
• Supervisor position reporting directly to the Senior Director of Surgical Services
• AM shift, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
• Occasional rotation with up to 4 weekend shifts per month
• No major holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Active CRCST certification (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association / HSPA) required
• Minimum 5 years of recent experience in an educator or supervisory role in Central Processing or the OR, OR 5–7 years as a Central Processing Tech with progressive responsibility
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English required
• Physical ability to meet the core job responsibilities of a CPD technician in standard practice settings
• Two professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'), and must include a performance evaluation; one evaluation must be within 12 months, the other within 3 years
• References from fellow travelers are not accepted
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides at-the-elbow support for frontline Central Processing Department (CPD) staff across all shifts and weekends
• Assists with employee education, in-services, and staff skill assessments in collaboration with CPD educators
• Functions as a project manager, supporting pipeline planning and coordinating CPD initiatives
• Participates in leadership meetings and prepares recommendations for the Senior Director of Surgical Services
• Assists in maintaining JCAHO standards and supports quality improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and incident report follow-up
• Serves as a liaison between institutional departments and partners to establish collaborative programs
• Responsible for staying current on AORN, AAMI, and HSPA standards and sterilization practices
