American Traveler is hiring a LPN for an inpatient rehab unit in Macon, GA, requiring at least 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience and an active GA LPN license.

Details

• 58-bed inpatient rehab hospital located approximately 5-6 miles from the main hospital campus
• Unit 1 is a 25-bed inpatient rehab unit with a typical census of 20-25 patients
• Patient population includes neuro, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), CVA, aneurysm, post-craniotomy, brain bleeds, and patients with PEG tubes and tracheostomies; most patients are referred from acute care hospitals
• LPN patient ratio is 1:5-7, supported by 1-3 CNAs per shift
• No IV drips required
• 12-hour day shifts (0700-1900) on a 36-hour workweek
• Weekend rotation includes approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• May be required to float between Rehab Unit 1 and Unit 2
• EMR: Epic (experience noted); IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitors: Philips
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Dynamapp portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, and suction machines

Requirements

• Active Georgia LPN license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts and maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, tube feeds, established trach care, and handling braces and splints
• Epic EMR experience
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Clinical interview required; manager gives final approval
• Orientation consists of 1 day of facility orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
• Holiday coverage is expected for one shift each of major holidays: Thanksgiving Day or the day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1
• RTO requests are subject to manager approval
• LPN scrub color is Ceil Blue
• Free on-site parking is available
• Support staff includes CNAs, a unit secretary, Charge RN, phlebotomy, RT available 24/7, and a hospitalist on-call overnight
• Candidates who have previously held a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
• Local candidates are accepted; no radius rule applies — the same rate applies for local travelers at Georgia facilities
