American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position requiring Epic proficiency, a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based hemodialysis department operating 24/7, consisting of 9 bays and 1 isolation room equipped for telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), metabolic imbalances, dialysis access problems, or drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
• Apheresis patient population includes patients with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases
• Acutely ill patients with a variety of medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses
• Average length of stay is 4–5 hours for hemodialysis and apheresis treatments
• Equipment used includes Tablo Dialysis Devices, Baxter Amia PD Devices, and Spectra Optia Apheresis Devices
• EMR: Epic (required)
• 13-week contract | Night shift: 3x12s, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends required
• On-call required on Sunday nights only
• Floating required between 3 health system campuses

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments; for hemodynamically unstable ICU patients, treatments are performed bedside in the patient's room
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities included for patients on telemetry or requiring surveillance during treatments
• Supported by certified hemodialysis technicians and a nursing secretary
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed) as part of compliance — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
