Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on an innovative 32-bed medical/surgical unit, requiring a valid VA or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on the 2 West Medical Innovation Unit, a 32-bed med/surg unit focused on new technologies and innovative nursing practice
• Night shift schedule (7p–7a), 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation is in place; staff are expected to work one summer and one winter holiday
• Self-scheduling is used, with staff assigned to rotating groups each scheduling period
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating to other units may be required to cover staffing needs

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• This unit serves as a catalyst for innovative nursing practice and early adoption of new technologies and equipment, including Hercules beds
• On the first day of the assignment, the RN will complete drug screening at Employee Health and will not be placed on the floor; the first clinical shift begins the following day
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO requests must be disclosed upfront prior to placement
