American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neurosurgery Clinic position in Southeast Wisconsin, requiring Epic EMR experience and strong clinic or triage skills in a Monday–Friday outpatient setting.

Details

• Outpatient neurosurgery clinic setting supporting a single provider
• Patient population consists of pre- and post-operative neuro spine surgery patients (no stroke)
• Typical clinic day involves 10–20 patients
• RN functions primarily in a background/support role and is not required to be in the room with patients most of the time
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (8-hour days, 40 hours/week)
• No weekend rotation, no on-call, and no holiday coverage required
• No floating required
• EMR: Epic (clinic view; inpatient workflow experience not required)

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• BSN preferred; ADN considered if well qualified
• Minimum 12 months of RN experience in a relevant specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Clinic or triage experience preferred; neurosurgery experience preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and under pressure
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the past year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• Key responsibilities include in-basket management, nurse triage (including e-messaging), clinic prep, placing orders and referrals, patient education, medication reconciliation, verifying surgical clearance with other specialties (cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, etc.), and coordinating care across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Department support includes a receptionist, medical assistants, and on-site clinical leadership
• Orientation period of up to 4 weeks provided
• All time-off requests must be approved by the manager/provider prior to the start of the assignment
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers; no radius restrictions apply
• Scrubs or business casual attire accepted; solid colors required for scrubs
