Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/Neurosurgical unit position at a large academic medical center, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry Acute Care experience with a neurological patient population.

Details

• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Placement on a 14-bed acute care neurological and neurosurgical inpatient nursing unit, combined with a 12-bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center (Brain Rescue Unit)
• Adult patient population including stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, spinal surgery, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, seizure disorders, and other neurological/neurosurgical conditions
• Every third weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Availability call: 2 twelve-hour shifts per 6-week schedule
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry Acute Care experience required
• Prior experience with neurological patients required
• Experience at a large hospital (500+ bed facility) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to adult neurological and neurosurgical patients including those with stroke, hemorrhagic conditions, spinal surgery, and complex neurological diseases
• Travel experience is preferred but not required
• Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
