American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring a minimum of 18 months of ICU experience and an active IN or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• 14-bed ICU in a short-term acute care hospital with 194 total staffed beds
• Specialized programs include open heart, neurosurgery, stroke, Level 2 trauma, ECMO stabilize-and-ship, STEMI, manual proning, sepsis management, IABP, and CRRT
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Night shift position working 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Free parking on-site
• Scrub colors: red top with black bottoms

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending licensure not accepted)
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• CCRN preferred
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
• Local candidates are not accepted for this ICU position

• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved; block scheduling is open to discussion
• Indiana RNs (non-Compact) are not eligible for this position per facility policy effective 11/30/2024; this restriction does not apply to Periop, Allied, or Ambulatory RN travelers
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• The UST and RRT teams are available on-site for additional clinical support
