American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Tech for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 18 months of CVOR experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting within a large hospital system
• Level 1 Trauma Center with a high-acuity cardiovascular and thoracic surgical caseload
• Cases include CABG, mitral/aortic valve replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, AAA repair, aortic dissection, carotid endarterectomy, atherectomy, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, femoral popliteal bypass graft, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted cardiac surgery, VAD, pericardial window, and heart and lung transplant
• Responsibilities include receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call requirement of 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
• Charting performed in Cerner

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of CVOR scrub tech experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Vascular and thoracic surgical case experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Graduation from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop/Surgical Services position
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Note: The IN RN restriction effective 11/30/24 does not apply to Periop travelers — this position is exempt from that rule
